I’m married to Amie and we have two children – Joshua (and his wife Olivia and their son, Silas) and Jenna. Originally from Springfield, MO, I’m a chocoholic, Star Wars nerd, a tennis fan and am passionate about all things Apple. I enjoy traveling, reading, walking, biking and hanging out with my family. Below are my results to several of the most popular assessments. They give insight into my personality and gifts.

Decision-Making Framework

With the wiring that God has given me years of making decisions I've worked to identify how I make decisions in life and as a leader. For better or worse, here it is ...

With these being my Working Geniuses: Wonder ——> Tenacity (I'm at the extreme ends of the WIDGET)

1. Ask Questions (Thoroughly)
2. Listen Well
3. Pray (Holy Spirit; Clarity, Courage, People-Pleasing, Mission Drift)
4. Process (w/ my inner circle)
5. Facts over Feelings (Proactive vs. Reactive, Timing)
6. Rigorous Evaluation - Data Driven (Purpose, Culture, Core Values)
7. Steady, Calculated, Conservative, Incremental, Informed Intuition
8. Prefer Collaboration; Less Is More (Important/Urgent)
9. Long-Term, Precedent-Setting, Stewardship, Content Ambition
10. Thoughtful Decision (Command, Consult, Vote, or Consensus)
11. Confident Direction (WWWF: Who? Does what? By when? How will we follow up?)
12. What is the wise thing to do?

Potential Weaknesses
  1. Analysis Paralysis
  2. Risk Avoidance
  3. People Pleasing
  4. Perfection (Looking Foolish/Unprepared)
  5. Pacing/Timing (too slow for others)

For some additional context check out
Culture Matters by Jenni Catron. She does a nice job with these sections of her book.

Decide How to Decide
  •   Command. Decisions are made without involving others.
  •   Consult. Input is gathered from the group and then a subset decides.
  •   Vote. An agreed-upon percentage swings the decision.
  •   Consensus. Everyone comes to an agreement and then supports the final decision.

Finish Clearly
  •   Determine who does what by when.
  •   Make the deliverables crystal clear.
  •   Set a follow-up time.
  •   Record the commitments and then follow up.
  •   Finally, hold people accountable to their promises.

  • Who?
  • Does what?
  • By when?
  • How will you follow up?
